Neurological department

The neurological department is a specialized subdivision of the hospital of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region", which provides qualified specialized care to patients with diseases of the nervous system.

The department is located on the fifth floor of the hospital building of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region" and has double wards for 30 inpatients. The wards are equipped with everything necessary for the comfortable stay of patients and meet high standards. The department has wards of the "luxury" class, which have spacious rooms, balconies, and all kinds of household appliances. It is possible to live together with an accompanying relative. The department has a spacious dining room, which is equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable meal and tables for patients with vertebrogenic pain syndromes. There are comfortable upholstered furniture, TV, and aquariums in the greened hall for patients' rest.

         In its work, the department uses innovative methods, technologies, and modern medical equipment for the examination and treatment of patients with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems. A highly qualified team of specialists works in our department to achieve success. Two doctors of the highest qualification category work in the department. Medical care in the department is provided with the involvement of specialists of other profiles of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region".

        In the treatment of patients, it is difficult to underestimate the daily work of nurses and nursing staff, who are the main assistants and companions of the patient on the way to his recovery. The nurse monitors the sequence of all medical procedures during the treatment, she is also the emotional support of the patient.

The work of our department is based on the needs of the patient, returning to an active full life!

The purpose of treatment is to restore the patient's ability to work, achieve independence, and fully return to the family, work, and familiar environment. Sometimes patients with the same disease have different pictures of the disease. Therefore, each patient in our department is treated with an individual approach to therapy and close interdisciplinary work of many specialists - doctors, physiotherapists, exercise instructors, psychologists, and nurses.

The activities of the department cover all diseases related to neurology, as well as all stages of patient rehabilitation.

           We will help to identify risk factors and develop a personalized program for the prevention of disease development. Our department provides a full cycle of neurorehabilitation care for patients, active recovery, starting from the first day of the disease, determination of the rehabilitation potential of a patient who has suffered a brain catastrophe, and development of an individual rehabilitation program. The activity of the department is based on the use of classical principles of treatment with the use of the latest technologies for the rehabilitation of patients with functional disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The department provides individual recommendations for drug therapy, exercise regime, and nutrition of patients after discharge from the hospital.

We provide diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients (adults) with the following diseases of the nervous system:

  • Vascular diseases of the brain (cerebral atherosclerosis, hypertensive encephalopathy, progressive vascular leukoencephalopathy);
  • Transient cerebral ischemic conditions and related syndromes;
  • Mild traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation treatment of the consequences of traumatic brain injury;
  • Recovery period and consequences of cerebral infarction, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage;
  • Consequences of inflammatory diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system;
  • Polyneuritis and other diseases of the peripheral nervous system;
  • Functional diseases of the nervous system (vegetative-vascular dystonia);
  • Spine diseases (osteochondrosis, spondyloarthrosis, pain syndromes, etc.);
  •  Tension-type headache, chronic post-traumatic headache, migraine;
  •  Neuralgia of various genesis and localization;
  • Treatment of conditions after surgical interventions on the brain and spinal cord;
  • Parkinson's disease and essential tremor;
  • Multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases;
  • Vestibular disorders (dizziness, tinnitus);
  • Restorative therapy of motor disorders in patients with traumatic lesions of the nervous system;
  • Lesions of the facial nerve.
